This woman was in a Restaurant eating when Governor of Texas Rick Perry came in and she asked to have a picture with him! Governor Perry who against equal rights for anybody, especially women around the county – especially Texas women who’ve watched Governor Rick Perry continuously stomp on women’s rights while he’s been in office. They would gladly line up to do the same thing, even if it meant getting this close to the anti-choice, anti-lgbt, voter-restricting, Limbaugh-loving, gun-waving Texas lawmaker who owns the title for most human executions. Perry, who has also been indicted for abuse of power, has created so many enemies, he can’t even take photos with folks he presumes are fans – without being duped. If we really do ‘get what we give’ in this world, the arrogant and unscrupulous Rick Perry is starting to get his. Click the more link for what makes this photo-op really extraordinary!! MORE
Shortly before departing for the frozen north in the wake of winter storm Titan, I read several pronouncements from our political leadership.
State Sen. Charlie Dean announced himself an environmentalist one day. I don’t recall any mention on his part of occasions when he had used his not-inconsiderable influence to save natural resources from someone planning to destroy them to make a fast buck. Perhaps I missed it.
The second day he offered a mild implied criticism of Duke Energy, which, as we all know, continues to collect hundreds of millions but has done nothing but destroy a nuclear plant and blow smoke about others. His comments were muted by the admission that since they had won their case against the tax assessor, perhaps there was nothing we could do.
The next day Sen. Dean said some nice things about the environment. But I didn’t stick around to see what smoke he would blow next.
The leader of the Party of the Plutocracy has begun saying nice things about the environment, discounting automobile registration, and even returning a fraction of what he has taken from public employees.
It reminds me a bit of conditions in my home town in Arkansas, where it was said that you knew when an election was coming because politicians would start showing up in church.
Gov. Rick Scott‘s former company, Columbia/HCA set what was then a record for a Medicare fraud settlement. And, according to Carl Hiaasen, Scott took the Fifth repeatedly during inquiries into his subsequent medical enterprises during the election.
Obviously, those of you who voted for Scott were determined not to have an honest person in as governor, and you were able to avoid that situation.
When Scott took office, his first inspiration of genius was to get rid of Florida’s award-winning and economically successful state park system.
With no support from fellow Republicans, he eventually compromised by privatizing the concession stands. Then he set out to have a fire sale on all the state property not nailed down. And in a down market, as well.
By the same token, the public utilities of this state have been given a license to steal. The legislature in 2006 authorized them to overcharge customers on the pretense of investing in clean energy. To be fair, while it was a bad deal at best, Florida Power seems to have used some of the free money to build a gas powered plant. The customers who were thus forced to invest get no stocks or bonds. But at least Florida Power has added electrical capacity. Progress/Duke has blown smoke about nuclear plants in Levy County, destroyed Crystal River 3, and is now beginning to blow smoke about a gas powered plant. But they are collecting over a billion dollars and actually destroyed capacity.
More recently, much has been made of the flood of lobbyists and political contributions on their way to Tallahassee from the utilities.
One reason given is to make sure the Republicans don’t allow consumer advocates to make the utilities include a line in each monthly bill telling the victims how much has been stolen from them that month. I’m surprised they bothered. Surely the Republican Party doesn’t want its victims to be reminded of the damage they have done to them monthly. And for that reason alone, they should block the truth without extra payments from their corporate employers.
Frankly, as far as I am concerned, any Duke customers who vote Republican deserve what they get. But the rest of us deserve better.

Eye on Citrus Presents the Great Svengali and his predictions for the remainder of 2012. With respect to Citrus County, the few elitists who control the county will remain in power through their chosen representatives. The elitists cover both sides of the equation, by having representatives for the Democratic Party and the Republican Party, no matter which candidate wins, their bets are covered. Even though Citrus County has become a Republican stronghold, they do not take any chances on an upset occurring. These individuals have learned from a group who has been controlling events on the National scale for decades, which is of course, is the Bilderberg group with its control of the National Agenda.
The Bilderberg official website would have you believe that they came into existence in 1954. In fact, they came into existence with their first meeting in 1913. Elitist families from Europe, the rich and powerful families from the United States, gather at the Bilderberg hotel in secrecy to formulate how they could control the United States. Their answer was to control the money. In the winter of 1913 during the Christmas holidays while most of Congress had gone home for the holidays, they got their representatives to pass the Federal Reserve Act. Whereby they effectively took the authority granted to the government of the United States, through the Constitution, away from the government and placed it in the hands of a private banking cartel. We have been sliding down that slippery slope of no return every since. It is within this background that the Great Svengali predicts the remainder for the year 2012.
If President Obama doesn’t act quickly to get the United States involved in the war in Syria than he will not be here for 2013, a calamity will befall him or the nation, resulting in new leadership, which will then lead to an active, wider, involvement in the Middle East. If the Bilderberg group has more patience, than the other alternative will be, he will lose the election.
Pope Benedict XVI will not reign in 2013.
The predictions of greater interest are:
Simon Cowell will tire of Brittany Spears after one season.
What other events are possible for the remainder of 2012, only the GODS and the Great Svengali Know!

Are you going to be a idle witness to the death of these programs that have helped so many, maybe even you? It’s time to take back this country from those who falsely claim they represent the people, when, in fact, they are the paid representatives of Corporate America. Privatization is a false god, it is evil, and it is trying to steal the country right out from under you.
Tuesday, House Budget Committee Chairman Paul Ryan (WI-01) announced the Republican’s budget proposal. It is unbelievably bad – literally. The GOP budget not only repeals the new health care law it eliminates Medicare and Medicaid as we know it.1
Fight for these life saving programs today. Call you Member of Congress and tell them to vote NO on the Republican’s extremist budget.
The Republican’s proposal gives millionaires huge tax breaks while seniors and hard-working families pay more for health care and get less coverage. Ryan’s plan would radically undermine the economic security of America’s middle class. It helps Wall Street-run health insurance companies make record-breaking profits and pay their CEOs outrageous sums to deny people the care they paid for and need.2
Nowhere in the Republican plan is there any shared sacrifice. There’s no fairness.
This budget would eviscerated programs that everyone in this country depend on. Republicans are attacking every single one of us.3
The GOP’s budget breaks America’s most basic promise: That if you work hard and play by the rules, you can take care of your family and retire with peace of mind.4 Call Congress today.

Some of us have known this for a long time. Some of us just found out and some will find out very soon. There are few, if any, elected officials who really care about our interests unless we’re one of the few thousand ultra rich who control Congress and the White House.
The Senate put the Social Security system at risk with a 33% cut to employee payroll taxes, from 6.2% to 4.2% of wages. Social Security is doing well with a $2.5 trillion surplus. But this major change begins the starvation of the system. Those who voted in favor will turn around sometime soon and say that Social Security is faltering. Of course, their cynical actions will be at fault. They’ll conveniently avoid mentioning that.
The Obama-Republican plan keeps the tax rate on investment income (capital gains) well below the rates for income taxes and below the capital gains rates in 2000. Wall Street ruins the economy with their shady deals then gets more tax breaks on their shady stock deals.
The wealthiest citizens get an extension of the “temporary” Bush era tax cuts.
Employment levels by Michael Collins
We’re told that these huge tax cuts are worth it because they’ll get the economy going again by producing jobs. We had nearly 10 years of the Bush tax cuts and guess how many new jobs have been added to the economy? None, when you factor in population growth.
These tax cuts will cause $900 billion in lost revenues. Supporters of these tax breaks will talk your ear off about balanced budgets. Apparently, they see no connection between giving away $900 billion and increasing the budget deficit.
This legislation has nothing to do with new jobs or a balanced budget. It’s all about enhancing income of those at the very top.
Senator Bernie Sanders said he’d stop the madness. Last Friday he stood up and spoke for hours outlining the glaring problems with the Obama-Republican program. People thought it was a filibuster. It wasn’t. There was no legislation to filibuster on Friday. Yesterday, when it really counted, Senator Sanders sat on his hands as the one sided brawl between The Money Party and the people took place on the Senate floor. There was no filibuster. Mighty Bernie had struck out.
But Sen. Sanders performed a valuable public service for those in charge. He provided the appearance that there might be at least one principled Senator left who was ready to hold the line.
We need our “heroes.” Without them, we might realize that we’re entirely on our own in the fight against the wholesale theft of the peoples’ hard work and wealth.
Before Sen. Sanders, there were the liberal Democrats in the House of Representatives. They promised to vote against the president’s health care reform bill if it didn’t have a viable public option. Guess what? They sat on their hands just like Senator Sanders as health care reform became a health insurance industry bailout.
Before Sanders there was presidential candidate Obama. He was the breath of fresh air, the sincere man for the people with the brains to pull off real “change.” But we had to have “hope” and before that, we had to believe him.
These public figures and many more promised to correct the chaos and depravity of the Bush era. It’s all a scam. A new war, more bailouts for Wall Street, the continued assault on the Constitution, and lower taxes for the super rich are what we got.
One Winner Only
The appearance of a political opposition is the essential window dressing required to fool people into thinking that there’s actually more than one side that will be heard on any public issue. There isn’t. The ultimate winners are the great accumulations of wealth represented by that bipartisan coalition that has no permanent friends or enemies, just permanent interests – The Money Party.
Nation’s Income Gains to Top 1% by Rebel Capitalist
The Money Party is on a roll. From 2002 through 2007, 70% of the nation’s income growth has gone to just 1% of the population. That 1% wants an end to Social Security, even more tax cuts, and capital gains tax rates well below the income taxes the rest of us pay.
There is no time to feel disappointed, upset, or betrayed by the big con game masquerading as democracy. There is no reason to expect that any political leader will be honest. For those we allow to lead, the only incentive for honesty is a fear by politicians that they’ll be tossed out of office and prosecuted for fraud if they fail to do their jobs.
The United States is still a great country because the vast majority of people are hard working, honest, and willing to live peacefully with their neighbors and, when given a chance, with the rest of the world. The enemies of greatness and progress are the politicians and their patrons who insist on having their way on every issue, who take every thing that isn’t nailed down; and, who create fake dramas and diversions to further the distortions and censorship of the corporate media . They will not go quietly into the night. They will employ every trick available to retain power.
An effective movement for real change should express the positive values of the vast majority. Of fundamental importance, it requires citizens who trust elected and appointed official only while those officials prove their fidelity to the peoples’ interests and the laws of the land. If you want heroes to do the job, just remember all the false heroes we’ve endured.
If we’re willing to reach the end our life justified by the fight rather than the victory, informed by principals rather than personalities, we acquire an enduring wealth beyond the reach of those in charge.

When photographs surfaced last week of House candidate Rich Iott wearing a Nazi uniform, the Ohio Republican admitted it was him with the SS insignia on his lapel, but called the images’ publication “false character attacks.”
Iott insisted his interest in Nazi Germany was purely historical. In a statement, he said he joined a historical reenactment group to bond with his son and had not meant to offend anyone.
But he also told The Atlantic, which broke the story, that he had “always been fascinated” with Nazi Germany’s ability to “from a strictly military point of view accomplish incredible things.”
Not since the explosive years of the civil rights movement and the hard-fought debut of government-supported health care for the elderly and poor have so many big things – love them or hate them – been done so quickly.
Gridlock? It may feel that way. But that’s not the story of the 111th Congress – not the story that history will remember.
Democrats are dearly hoping history won’t repeat itself. In 1966, after Democrats created Medicare and Medicaid and passed civil rights laws, they got hammered in the election, losing 48 seats in the House and four in the Senate. They maintained their majorities in both at the time, but an identical result next month would turn the House over to Republicans.
