Nuclear Disarmament: A Solution Not Being Offered

Iran’s decision to stop complying with parts of a landmark nuclear deal, and North Korea’s new round of missile tests have the world talking about the possibility of nuclear war again.

In light of the devastation these weapons cause, it defies logic that such a war is ever a possibility. Yet the “Doomsday Clock” of the Bulletin of the Atomic Scientists stands at two minutes to midnight, indicating that the risk of a nuclear confrontation right now is extremely high. How did we get here and why has the world collectively not found a solution to this threat?

Most governments recognize that certain kinds of weapons are so dangerous that simply possessing them creates an imminent danger to the safety and security of the planet.

Almost every country, including the United States, has signed onto the Biological Weapons Convention, banning the development, production, and stockpiling of such weapons. The same is true with the Chemical Weapons Convention.

Why then does the United States, as well as other nuclear-armed states like Russia and China, not also take a similar posture towards nuclear weapons?

America’s policy seems to be “nuclear weapons don’t kill people, people kill people.”

Certainly those in power do not fail to recognize these weapons’ awesome power and potential for destruction. They’ve only grown more deadly over the decades. When the US dropped the first atom bombs on Hiroshima and Nagasaki in 1945, killing 220,000 people, they delivered approximately 15 and 21 kilotons of energy respectively. Today’s modern weapons are an order of magnitude more powerful.

The largest energy-yielding bomb ever exploded was the Russian “Tsar Bomba” with a 50 megaton detonation in 1961 — 2,000 times more powerful than the first atom bombs, with a fireball eight miles in diameter.

To get a sense of what one of these weapons can do, you can check out this interactive app that uses Google Maps to demonstrate the radius of destruction, estimated fatalities, and radioactive fallout for various types of nuclear weapons.

But perhaps even more dangerous than the increased yields are the sophisticated new methods of delivery. Consider the MIRV — short for “multiple independently-targetable reentry vehicle.” MIRVs are essentially smaller warheads packed inside the main warhead of a ballistic missile.

The idea is that when the missile descends on the target, the MIRV warhead will open and release all the smaller, harder to defend against warheads toward different targets — either spread wide to hit multiple cities and military bases, or concentrated on a single area for maximum damage.

Under the Obama administration, the US removed the last MIRV missile from its arsenal in 2014, while Russia unveiled its new “Satan 2” MIRV missiles in 2016. The latter weapon was also demonstrated in a visual animation during a recent talk by Vladimir Putin. The MIRVs were shown falling on President Donald Trump’s favorite getaway destination — Mar-a-Lago.

Or consider the ballistic missile submarines that crawl silently along the ocean floor — undetected by either friend and foe. The US Navy currently has 14 of these subs deployed.

Or the B-52 nuclear bombers that were for decades in a 24/7 flight pattern headed toward targets in Russia, only to turn away before reaching their fail-safe distance. More than one apocalyptic novel or movie has been written around something going haywire with these deterrence systems.

If a nuclear exchange between rival powers were to occur, not only would millions of lives likely be lost, but the very existence of life on this planet could be in jeopardy because of the effects of nuclear winter.

Add to that nightmare scenario the consideration that humanity has already come to the brink of annihilation more than once — as shown by several accidental incidents.

This is not to say that no progress has been made. In 1963 the US and Russia — the two countries with by far the most nuclear weapons — signed the Partial Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, and both countries have abided by that agreement to never again test detonate a nuclear weapon above ground. (Russia has also signed and ratified the Comprehensive Nuclear Test Ban Treaty, banning underground detonations as well. The United States has signed, but not ratified the treaty.)

The US and Russia are also signatories to the Treaty on Non-Proliferation of Nuclear Weapons (NPT). The treaty, ratified in 1970, bans the sale or transfer of nuclear weapons and technology, with the eventual goal of disarmament, preserving the right for peaceful use of nuclear power.

Both countries have signed other incremental treaties over the decades that have helped significantly reduce the number of warheads and deliverability systems, including the recent New Start treaty, signed in 2010.

In early 1960s, the United States nuclear arsenal was at its peak, with over 30,000 weapons, while the Soviet Union had over 40,000 in 1986. Today, both countries have approximately 7,000 each.

While this downtrend is certainly praiseworthy, both countries still have more than enough weapons to blow up the entire world. Recent posturings by both nations, and calls for “modernization” of nuclear arsenals are causing great concern among peace activists.

While the NPT signers have agreed to work towards disarmament, a majority of countries have not been satisfied with the current state of affairs and slow progress. On July 7, 2017, 122 countries voted to approve the text of the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons — the first treaty completely banning the use, possession, and development of nuclear weapons. As of today, 57 countries have signed on to the treaty.

Noticeably absent signatories are all currently nuclear-armed countries.

The below video further explains the Treaty on the Prohibition of Nuclear Weapons, and is followed by a video of former UN Ambassador Nikki Haley explaining why the US does not agree with the treaty.

Leaks contradict Israel’s claim Iran was close to bomb

Netanyahu Lies proved by Mossad whistleblowers

London (AFP) – Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu’s claim that Iran was a year away from making a nuclear bomb was contradicted by his secret services, according to reports Monday citing leaked documents.

The inconsistency was revealed in a cache of communications between South African intelligence services and their global partners — including Israel’s Mossad and America’s CIA — that were leaked to Qatar-based news network Al-Jazeera and Britain’s The Guardian daily.

In 2012 Netanyahu told world leaders at the United Nations that Iran could create a nuclear weapon within a year, brandishing a diagram in the form of a lit bomb to indicate the advanced state of Tehran’s development effort.

He warned the world that unless Iran was stopped, as of mid-2013 it would only need “a few months, or even a few weeks” of additional uranium enrichment activity to develop a bomb.

But weeks after the speech, Mossad shared a report with South African intelligence which concluded Iran was “not performing the activity necessary to produce weapons,” according to the Guardian.

The discrepancy, the paper said, “highlights the gulf between the public claims and rhetoric of top Israeli politicians and the assessments of Israel’s military and intelligence establishment.”

The revelations come at a politically sensitive moment as the United States, China, Russia, Britain, France and Germany face a March 31 deadline to reach a deal with Iran to limit its nuclear program in return for an easing of economic sanctions.

Iran denies seeking an atomic bomb, insisting that its nuclear programme is purely for peaceful energy purposes.

An Israeli government official told the Guardian that there was no contradiction between Netanyahu’s statements and the report, claiming both state Iran was enriching uranium to produce weapons.

The leaked documents dating from 2006 to late 2014 consist mainly of communications between South Africa’s intelligence agency and other agencies around the world, such as Britain’s MI6, Russian intelligence and the CIA.

This has all the earmarks of how UNITED STATES painted Japan into corner over petroleum resulting in WWII

Editor: Because of the sanctions imposed upon Russia by the United States and the European Union Russia has turn to other trading partners to offset these actions. The deal described below is an earmark, the same type of painting Russia into the corner as the United States did to Japan which led to the “surprise” attack on Pearl Harbor, although the specifics are different, the attitudes are the same, whether or not the consequences will be, we can only hope not!

Russia Delivers Blow To Petrodollar In Historic $20 Billion Iran Oil Deal
Russia signed a historic $20 billion oil deal with Iran to bypass both western sanctions and the dollar based western monetary system yesterday.

Currency wars are set to escalate as the petro dollar’s decline continues.

Russian Energy Minister Alexander Novak and his Iranian counterpart Bijan Zanganeh signed a five-year memorandum of understanding in Moscow, which included cooperation in the oil sector.

“Based on Iran’s proposal, we will participate in arranging shipments of crude oil, including to the Russian market,” Novak was quoted as saying.

The five year accord will see Russia help Iran “organise oil sales” as well as “cooperate in the oil-gas industry, construction of power plants, grids, supply of machinery, consumer goods and agriculture products”, according to a statement by the Energy Ministry in Moscow.

The deal could see Russia buying 500,000 barrels of Iranian oil a day, the Moscow-based Kommersant newspaper has previously reported. Under the proposed deal Russia would buy up to 500,000 barrels a day or a third of Iranian oil exports in exchange for Russian equipment and goods.

The Russian government withdrew the statement regarding the deal last night, but said it would issue a new statement today.

In January, Russia said that they were negotiating an oil-for-goods swap worth $1.5 billion a month that would enable Iran to lift oil exports substantially to Russia, undermining Western sanctions.

Yesterday, the Russian President told regional leaders that “the political tools of economic pressure are unacceptable and run counter to all norms and rules.” He  said in response to western sanctions he had given orders to boost domestic manufacturers at the expense of non-Russian ones.

The White House has previously said that reports of talks between Russia and Iran were a matter of “serious concern”.

Osama bin Laden’s Son-in-Law here!

by The Lone Wolf

In an interview with political interviewer David Frost, taken on November 2, 2007, the recently assassinated Pakistani politician, and Pakistan People's Party chairwoman, Benazir Bhutto, claimed that Bin Laden had been murdered by Omar Sheikh. During her answer to a question pertaining to the identities of those who had previously attempted her own assassination, Bhutto named Sheikh as a possible suspect while referring to him as "the man who murdered Osama bin Laden." Despite the weight of such a statement, neither Bhutto nor Frost attempted to clarify it and no other mainstream media appears to have further inquired about it. Nov 2007 EYEONCITRUS.COM

They are making a big deal out of capturing Osama bin Laden’s Son-in-Law alive! The question that needs to be ask why now is it so important, to capture him alive when that same opportunity presented itself when they had the chance on capturing Osama bin Laden, himself, alive? And if you believe Benazir Bhutto, former Prime Minister of Pakistan in a David Frost interview, where she mentioned that Osama bin Laden had been killed years before, which David Frost heard and never blinked an eye! Apparently, it was common knowledge for those in the know and not for the rest of us. She was murdered in December 2007. That can help explain why they didn’t take him alive and why they decided to bury him at sea, which doesn’t sound like a common practice for a Muslim living in a desert type country.

Of course, the answer is they are preparing an agenda for future military adventurism against Iran and what better way than saying Abu Ghaith’s has provided them with information which indicates that al Qaeda operatives are in Iran! Thus setting the stage for Israel’s mandate to invade Iran and being the faithful follower of Israel the United States is set on sacrificing it’s sons and daughters in another illegitimate call to arms. When the Nation hasn’t the funds to take care of it’s own citizens, it will be forgetful of that fact and set it’s eyes on Iran.

With the clamor that North Korea is making about nuking Washington, D.C., you would think that the attention to that would be paramount, yet, Washington has said that it can defend itself from such an attack, seemingly, taking a less concerned attitude for that situation. Once again, you have to ask yourself as to why such a response?

If Washington feels itself capable of defending such an action, surely, Israel, having the same arsenal at it’s disposal as the United States (never mind that Israel has never signed the Non-Proliferation Treaty for Nuclear weapons) could do likewise. Least we forget that the period during the cold war, there never occurred a nuclear attack between the Super Powers, Russia and the United States, or any other nation, because of the fear of nuclear retaliation with mutual destruction being the outcome of such action.

The United States uses al-Qaeda as both, the good guys with the white hats, when they are overthrowing Egypt, Libya, and attempting to overthrow, Syria. Yet, when Washington needs a bad guy, like in the false flag operation of 911, al-Qaeda, switches hat, from white to black, and becomes the bad guy. This will be the scenario for Iran, they can’t allow al-Oaeda into Iran because they might obtain nuclear weapons, these nut jobs who brought down the towers!!! All the while, the manipulators continue to escape their crimes, while the American taxpayers, pay and pay.

MURDER in Bengasi

Terrorists: MOSSAD CIA

By Avyd Grid Jorge click on the title MURDER in Bengasi to be taken to complete article!

Several sources have said that U.S. Ambassador Chris Stevens, Tyrone Woods, Glen Doherty, the two former Navy SEAL commandos working as diplomatic security officers (mercenaries) and Sean Smith, an information management officer killed in Bengasi, Libya, were betrayed by their Libyans bodyguards and the series of events leading up to this was carried out by a Psy-Ops of the Israel Mossad and CIA operatives in their continued efforts to drag the United States into the coming Iran conflict. It has all the flavor of the Iranian-Hostage episode that was orchestrated  back in 1979 to influence the Presidential election of 1980, by removing President Carter and to bring forward the election of Ronald Reagan, who’s Vice President George Bush, (former CIA Operative) was deemed to be more of a military adventurist than Carter. Under Reagan’s Presidency, he (Reagan) would take care of domestic issues, while his Vice President, would handle the foreign affairs. This was orchestrated by rogue CIA operatives who resented President Carter taking heed of President Eisenhower’s warning in his farewell address (beware of the Military-Industrial Complex) and fired 4000 CIA spies. The operatives succeeded, Carter lost the election and immediately after Reagan took office, the hostages were released and what followed were the years of the Iran-Contra Affair, where, the Reagan Administration in collusion with the Military-Industrial Complex, began to supply the Iranian terrorists (those who had held the American hostages) arms in order to get the release of another group of Americans who were held hostage in Lebanon. So much for the not dealing with Terrorists mantra!

Lieutenant Colonel Oliver North, a chief aide to the National Security Council, was chosen to be in charge of this covert U.S. initiative. From the late summer of 1985 to mid-autumn of 1986 the Reagan administration sold arms to Iran, who was currently in a bloody war with Iraq. The intent of this was to persuade Iran to use its influence to arrange the release of the hostages in Lebanon. This tactic worked, facilitating the release of three American hostages. This was fruitless however, as those three were quickly replaced by the kidnapping of three other Americans and America began to supply Iraq with weapons also, thus obtaining the ultimately Military-Industrial complex dream, supplying both sides of a conflict with arms!

It’s called Iran-Contra Affair because Reagan’s administration wanted to continue to aid the Contras guerrillas who were fighting the Sandinistas in Nicaragua, Congress passed the Boland Act, which forbid this type of involvement. President Reagan, through the NSA keep it going which resulted in the formation of the Tower Commission to investigate what was going on. They spoke with Reagan, Bush and the rest of the Administration staff and then to the NSA. This episode in covert operations was whitewashed off by blaming a “rogue” group within the NSA! Although two select committees in Congress later did find culpability by individuals involved, yet, Reagan and others at the top were not indicted, even though there was a strong belief of their guilt.
