Republicans Acknowledge the National Debt

In an historic move, at their National Convention, the GOP acknowledges that is was and is the party that is responsible for the National Debt, referring to the years of the George Bush, Cheney Administration. Citing the fact  that Bush took office when there was no National Debt and there was a surplus of over 10 billion dollars in the government coffers. It took George Bush and Cheney under six years to turn that National Surplus into a multi-trillion dollar deficit!

Clint "make my day" Eastwood talking with the American Public

The GOP feels that just because it wants to restore the same policy of George Bush, the policy that set the wheels in motion, it is no reason not to vote for them. In fact, their guest speaker, “make my day”, Clint Eastwood, who candidly, expressed the American public view of the Republican nominee, Mitt Romney, in a dialogue with an empty chair that represented President Obama and the American people. In that dialogue, when the President and the American people told Clint to tell the Republican candidate to “go frack himself”, Mr. Eastwood told the President and the American public, that that was a physical impossibility.

Chemo Can Actually Cause Cancer

In Chemo Can Actually Cause Cancer, EYE ON CITRUS, EYEONCITRUS.COM on kp24 at 311207

Chemo Can Cause Cancer Too

Cancer-busting chemotherapy can cause damage to healthy cells which triggers them to secrete a protein that sustains tumor growth and resistance to further treatment, a study said Sunday.

Researchers in the United States made the “completely unexpected” finding while seeking to explain why cancer cells are so resilient inside the human body when they are easy to kill in the lab.

They tested the effects of a type of chemotherapy on tissue collected from men with prostate cancer, and found “evidence of DNA damage” in healthy cells after treatment, the scientists wrote in Nature Medicine.

Chemotherapy works by inhibiting reproduction of fast-dividing cells such as those found in tumors.

The scientists found that healthy cells damaged by chemotherapy secreted more of a protein called WNT16B which boosts cancer cell survival.

“The increase in WNT16B was completely unexpected,” study co-author Peter Nelson of the Fred Hutchinson Cancer Research Center in Seattle told AFP.

The protein was taken up by tumor cells neighboring the damaged cells.

“WNT16B, when secreted, would interact with nearby tumor cells and cause them to grow, invade, and importantly, resist subsequent therapy,” said Nelson.

In cancer treatment, tumors often respond well initially, followed by rapid regrowth and then resistance to further chemotherapy.

Rates of tumor cell reproduction have been shown to accelerate between treatments.

“Our results indicate that damage responses in benign cells … may directly contribute to enhanced tumor growth kinetics,” wrote the team.

The researchers said they confirmed their findings with breast and ovarian cancer tumours.

The result paves the way for research into new, improved treatment, said Nelson.

“For example, an antibody to WNT16B, given with chemotherapy, may improve responses (kill more tumor cells),” he said in an email exchange.

“Alternatively, it may be possible to use smaller, less toxic doses of therapy.”

This is perhaps the biggest difference between Democrats and Republicans

In daily kos, EYEONCITRUS.COM, This is perhaps the biggest difference between Democrats and Republicans on kp33 at 311207

When Democrats took control of Congress after the 2006 elections, one of the first laws they passed was a three-step increase in the federal minimum wage from $5.15 an hour to $7.25 an hour. Before then, under Republican control of the House of Representatives, the minimum wage had been frozen for a decade.Last week, a group of more than 100 House Democrats introduced legislation that would once again increase the federal minimum wage in three steps from $7.25 to $9.80. Further, the Democratic bill ties the minimum wage to inflation, so low-income workers will no longer see their purchasing power decline every time Republicans have a majority in the House. This bill would improve the take home pay of 28 million low-income Americans, and help stimulate the economy for everyone else. There are few, if any, other laws that could so quickly make a positive difference in the lives of so many low-income Americans. However, it has no chance of passing into law as long as John Boehner and the tea party are in charge.

This is one of the clearest reasons why we need Democrats to control the House of Representatives, and for Nancy Pelosi to become Speaker Pelosi once more. To accomplish that goal, at Daily Kos, we are working to elect nine strong progressives who are running in districts Democrats must win in order to retake the majority.

Please, help increase wages for 28 million low-income Americans by chipping in $1 for each of the nine progressive Democrats listed on the Speaker Pelosi Project page on Act Blue.

Keep fighting,

Please have the following Letter to the Editor published as the 7/8 Out
the Window implies that my last name is illegitimate/fictitional and
that I have a "low name" recognition in all places except the "west
side " of Citrus County - these theories are untrue!

Thanks and have a good day!

Renee

In response to the 7/8/12 "Out the Window" article, I do take exception to the reference to myself, Rene Christopher-McPheeters, Candidate for Citrus County Commission, District 1, as "changing" my name, as "Christopher" was my last name at birth, and as having "low name recognition", being in fact, well known throughout Citrus County, this is a very unfair and biased article, and I truly feel that I deserve having my reply published! Instead, both of my opponents in this District 1, race for county commissioner, fall into your "low name" category: as on the campaign trail throughout the county, I have found that both of my opponents - the incumbent commissioner and incumbent councilman are either unknown or are known and the Citizens are "tired" of their "good old boy" cronyism. Whereas, I have stood for the Citizens not only on the "west side" issues such as the Unfair Crystal River Invalid Annexation (one opponent was for), the Unfair Interlocal Sewer Agreement (both opponents voted for) and the restriction of Flying US Flags(one opponent voted for/the other did not oppose) The publisher was correct in referring to myself as a "citizen activist" yet he failed to note that I have stood on countywide issues, as the only District 1, Citrus County Commission Candidate: Against the "Ottawa Fiasco"/Meadowcrest Multi-Million Dollar Giveaways on the Most Important BOCC Voting Days! Furthermore, many throughout Citrus County are aware of my ongoing project against child-porn: by Proclamation - receiving a Citrus BOCC Proclamation Against Child Pornography, a BOCC Resolution Against Progress Energy Rate Hikes, and also being Founder of the First Official 9/11/01 Memorial in Citrus County!

I Am A Countywide Activist Candidate For The People!

“Of the Rich, By the Rich, for the Rich”

Koch Brothers

Several months ago, Bernie and Congressman Ted Deutch introduced a constitutional amendment to overturn the disastrous Supreme Court decision in Citizens United. The importance of that amendment and other efforts to overturn Citizens United or to diminish its impact is becoming more and more apparent.
In his famous speech at Gettysburg during the Civil War, Abraham Lincoln talked about America as a country “of the people, by the people and for the people.” Today, as a result of Citizens United, we are rapidly moving toward a nation of the rich, by the rich and for the rich. Despite having the most unequal distribution of wealth and income of any major country on earth, millionaires and billionaires want more, more and more.

In recent weeks, multi-billionaires such as the Koch brothers and Sheldon Adelson have made it clear that, as a result of the Citizens United decision, they intend to spend hundreds of millions of dollars to buy this election for candidates who support the super-wealthy.

We must overturn Citizens United if we are serious about maintaining the foundations of American democracy. We need to pass the Disclose Act, which will come to the floor of the Senate in a few weeks, if we want to diminish the decision’s horrendous impacts.

Strengthen Social Security

At a time when all Republicans and some Democrats are supporting cuts in Social Security, Bernie has a different approach. Raising the Social Security payroll tax cap on incomes above $250,000 would make Social Security strong for the next 75 years while affecting only 1.4 percent of the wealthiest workers in the United States. That’s what the Center for Economic and Policy Research concluded in an analysis of a bill Bernie introduced. “The report makes clear that if we simply asked the top 1.4 percent of Americans to pay their fair share into the Social Security Trust Fund, Social Security would be solvent for the next 75 years,” Bernie said.

Bankers and Bank Regulators

Dollar Bill

Bernie introduced legislation
to prohibit banking industry officials from serving as directors of the 12 Federal Reserve regional banks. “If this is not a clear example of the fox guarding the henhouse, I don’t know what is,” he said.He released a report on Tuesday showing that 18 bankers, including Jamie Dimon of JP Morgan Chase, are sitting or have sat as members of the Fed while their banks received huge bailouts. “You think there`s a conflict of interest there? You think we should deal with that?” Bernie asked during an interview on MSNBC.

Washington has been bought by the Corporate Monolith. The individuals on the Hill know NO allegiance to the people. Their only allegiance is to the Corporate Monolith which controls all their actions. The American Democracy may be too late to save. The one, last attempt, to stop the downfall of our Nation and the Democracy that it once was is being offered by a Constitutional Amendment proposed and submitted by the Senator from Vermont, Bernie Sanders. Bernie Sanders is a friend of mine and a former neighbor of mine when I lived in Vermont. He had a small farm on Miller Hill, many years ago. Bernie and myself, as well as many Americans, never envisioned a day when so many of our individual rights would be stripped away by a cold, uncaring government, a government bought and paid for by the Corporate Elite. The American people have been and are being bombarded with ideas that are alien to our way of life. Ideas such as the ruling by the Supreme Court, that Corporations have the same rights as individuals, as you and I, and therefore, can contribute to various campaigns, using various tricks, enormous amounts of money, thereby, guaranteeing the election of their robo-voters to the Congress.

Miracles are nice but Nuclear Meltdown

In EYE ON CITRUS, EYEONCITRUS.COM, JAPAN, Miracles are nice but Nuclear Meltdown on kp48 at 311117

Things continue to be going from bad to worst in Japan. The Japanese government minimal public disclosure of the catastrophic events occurring in that country can be expected, our own government disinterest in the world-wide implications of this momentous disaster can only be described as a dereliction of duty, not only, to the people of the United States, but to the world! Yet again, another example of the United States having lost the moral high ground as it continues its downward spiral from a model of democratic ideals and freedom with a concern for the welfare of its citizens to a Corporate Monolith Entity with a life of its own whose only interest is an insatiable appetite for wealth.

Dennis is a good man, he knows the truth about Washington, he tries his best against the machine. He can’t do it alone, he is one of the very few stalwarts left in our government. They most certainly would like to see him not make it. If anyone deserves your support, it’s Dennis, please consider making a contribution. He may not represent your district, but he represents ALL the people of the United States.

Dear Friend,
14 million Americans are out of work. And while Washington has found enough money to bail out the banks, American families and Main Street are struggling. We need a bold solution to create jobs – and quickly. The banks and the private sector aren’t doing it, so government needs to step up to the plate.
Last week, I proposed the National Emergency Employment Defense (NEED) Act. This act would put the Federal Reserve under the Treasury Department and authorize it to spend money directly into the economy to create jobs. We shouldn’t have to borrow from China to invest in our own country. Congress has the constitutional power to coin money – and in circumstances like we’re facing now, we should use it.
I recorded this video for you to talk more about the NEED act and what I am doing in Congress:

I will continue to fight for ordinary Americans and bold ideas like this in Congress, but I need your help. I am facing a tough election, and our movement needs your support. With an important fundraising deadline approaching this Friday, any contribution you could make

would mean a great deal to me.
Thank you.

FORWARD By EYESONCITRUS

The United States is now considered a third world country in terms of labor, that is why the world’s auto maker’s build their plants here, to save their labor costs because their countries offer a livable wage to their workers, while ours continue to suffer. A Nation only prospers when all segments of society prosper, when the elite grab control which they have done in the states, they manipulate and incite, in order to divide and conquer. Americans have forgotten that their greatness is from being united, if we are ever to be great again it is time, once again to unite, arrest those who have lied to us, stole from us, misled us into wars, these are the true terrorists of the world and until the masses realize that, the future is not very bright.

On July 6, 1892, in Homestead, Pennsylvania, 3800 workers went on strike, to win the right to organize. Three hundred hired and armed goons attacked them. Five people died.

On April 20, 1914, in Ludlow, Colorado, 1200 coal miners went on strike, to win the right to organize. The Colorado National Guard attacked their shantytown, and burned it to the ground. Nineteen people died. Two women and 11 children were asphyxiated, and they burned to death.

Here and around the world, many people have fought and died, so that you and I would have the right to organize.

And so that 250,000 public workers in Wisconsin would have that right, too.

This is not exactly a new idea. Six months after the Ludlow Massacre, President Wilson signed the Clayton Act, prohibiting the prosecution of union members under Antitrust Law. That was almost a century ago.

Two decades later, during the Franklin Roosevelt’s first term as President, he signed the National Labor Relations Act into law. It protects the right to organize. That was over 75 years ago.

The right to organize also is a fundamental principle of international law. Over 150 countries have ratified the “Right to Organize” Convention, an international treaty. It was adopted in 1949, over 60 years ago.

So why are we even talking about this, 11 years into the 21st Century?

Because the teabaggers want to “take back America.” They want to take it back, all right – take it all the way back to the 19th century. When there was no right to organize. When people worked for a dollar a day. When grown men competed against children for jobs. When women were barred from most jobs entirely. When you worked until you died.

Not to mention slavery.

I want to see an America that is healthy and wealthy.

They want an America that provides cheap labor to our corporate overlords. An America where the middle class is chained by debt.

We didn’t ask for this fight. But we have no choice except to fight back. For the survival of the middle class in America. For us, for our children, and for our grandchildren. And so that the victims in Haymarket, in Homestead and in Ludlow did not die in vain.

As Cardinal Spellman said 45 years ago, “it is a war thrust upon us, and we cannot yield to tyranny.”

I’m ready to fight for what’s right. What about you?

Courage,

Alan Grayson
